A BLUE BMW was broken into at Trewan Hall, St Columb Major, and a number of items were stolen including a digital camera.Police are appealing for witnesses to the theft, which took place overnight on Thursday, May 9. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting GC/13/147.

POLICE are appealing for information after drawing pins left on the Camel Trail caused numerous cyclists to have punctures.Several reports have been made to the police, who are treating the incidents as criminal damage.Most of the punctures have occurred near the Iron Bridge towards the Padstow end of the trail.Call Wadebridge police on 101 and quote BW/13/365.

EVELYN STARKEY, 59, of St Merryn Holiday Village, Foxglove Crescent, Padstow, has been ordered to pay £587 compensation to Tesco after admitting stealing cash to that value from the Padstow store between December 20, 2012 and January 31 this year.Starkey, who appeared before Bodmin magistrates last Tuesday, was conditionally discharged for three years and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge as well as £60 in prosecution costs.

A FOUR-MONTH jail sentence has been imposed on a man with 65 previous convictions for theft who stole alcohol from Bude Co-op while drunk.Karl Hake, 44, of Littleway, Exeter, appeared before Bodmin magistrates on Tuesday, May 21, when he pleaded guilty to stealing alcohol valued at £32.78 from the Burn View store.He was given an immediate custodial term after magistrates had considered his record, which totalled 160 offences.

A BODMIN man admitted to stealing alcohol from local shops while stood before magistrates on Tuesday, May 14.Christopher Worden, 42, of Kinsman Estate, pleaded guilty to stealing the alcohol from Costcutter in Bodmin on February 28 and from Spar on March 10.He also asked for another offence to be taken into consideration.He was conditionally discharged for 18 months and ordered to pay a total of £14.18 compensation, £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

Thieves stole more than 1,000 toilet rolls from a disabled toilet in Truro. The theft took place overnight on April 24 from the public toilets on The Leats in the city centre. The thieves forced the padlock on the toilet and got away with 1,224 toilet rolls. Police are hoping to clean up the crime with help from the public. A TRURO pensioner was at home when she was burgled in the middle of the day. Police said a woman in her seventies was at home in Dobbs Lane when a mobile phone was taken from her kitchen on May 23.
