THE OWNERS of a North Cornwall abattoir have pleaded not guilty to six charges relating to the removal of body parts of sheep after slaughter.HR Jasper and Son Limited, of Botathan, South Petherwin, appeared before Truro magistrates last week to face charges brought by the Food Standards Agency. The case was adjourned until April.

A 23-YEAR-OLD man from St Columb Major has denied inflicting grievous bodily harm on another man at Truro.At Truro Crown Court on Wednesday Shane Sheffield, of Trelawney Parc, denied assaulting Nicholas Birch on March 19 last year.Sheffield was remanded in custody and will now face trial on a date yet to be set.

A PROPERTY in Nanstallon was burgled last Wednesday when jewellery, a digital camera, and mobile phones were among items stolen.The burglary was committed between 8am and 5.30pm on February 5 when entry was gained through an insecure window.Bodmin CID would like to hear from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area.Call 101, ref BB/14/198.

A FLAT screen TV was stolen from a house in Falmouth as the residents slept. The burglary happened in the early hours of Sunday morning at a property on Penmere Hill. Sergeant martin Roberts, from Falmouth police station, said: "It is believed that the property was insecure – it was not locked. It was occupied at the time."
