A ST AUSTELL woman has admitted setting fire to a housing association property.Appearing at Truro Crown Court on Wednesday, Francesca Jones, 22, of Eastbourne Road, pleaded guilty to arson on a Stonham Housing property in St Austell on August 29 and being reckless as to whether life was endangered.She also admitted damaging a Warren's Bakery shop window on August 28. Her case has been adjourned to February 26 for a psychiatric report.

KARL WILSON, 49, of Barn Street, Liskeard, has been ordered to pay £540 compensation after pleading guilty to stealing a holdall and contents belonging to Thomas Miller on July 13 at Liskeard. Wilson, who appeared before Bodmin magistrates on Tuesday December 17, was conditionally discharged for 12 months.

A TRURO man is set to stand trial accused of raping and sexually assaulting a girl aged under 13. At Truro Crown Court Christopher Teague, 33, of St Clements Close, denied one count of raping the girl and two counts of sexually assaulting her on dates between November 2007 and November 2011. He faces three further charges of indecency with a child in relation to a boy aged under 16 on dates between April 2000 and April 2004.A date for his trial will be set in the new year.

Cash stolen from charity shop in Camborne
POLICE are appealing for information after thieves stole cash from a charity shop in Camborne.
It is understood that the offenders posed as customers and entered the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust Shop during opening hours on Saturday, December 21.
Police believe the thieves concealed themselves inside the shop on Trelowarren Street, until staff vacated the shop.

Valuables stolen from six cars in Bodmin
Police in Bodmin are warning vehicle owners to be vigilant after at least six cars were broken into last night.
Valuables were taken from the vehicles parked in Green Lane and Halgavor View.
Police say the thieves managed to open the doors of the cars without causing damage to the vehicles.
Item taken included a mobile phone, an I-pod, compact discs plus cash.
