A TRURO man who admitted drugs offences committed in St Austell in February was sentenced to a community order by magistrates last week.Casey Smith, 22, of Falmouth Road, appeared before Bodmin court on Tuesday when he pleaded guilty to possession of 106.72g of cannabis, 625 Diazepam tablets and 11.48mg of cocaine on February 23.He was sentenced to a 12-month community order with probation supervision and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

THREE assaults have led to a community order and curfew for a Bude teenager.Kate Watts, 18, of Broadclose Hill, Bude, appeared before Bodmin magistrates on Tuesday when she pleaded guilty to assaulting Rebecca Townsend, Miriam Westaway and Luke Goacher by beating at Bude on October 20.She was curfewed for eight weeks on Fridays and Saturdays from 8pm to 6am and told she would be under probation supervision for 12 months.She was also ordered to pay compensation totalling £200.

A DRUNKEN woman patient who hit a hospital nurse has been jailed for 16 weeks by magistrates.Senior Staff Nurse Anthony Smith was left with a bloody nose after being hit in the face by 39-year-old Bodmin woman Susan Griffiths at the Accident and Emergency department at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Treliske.Griffiths, of Berrycombe Hill, Bodmin, who pleaded guilty on November 28 to assaulting Mr Smith by beating on November 13, was sentenced to custody by Bodmin magistrates on Wednesday.
