A STUDENT who stole a woman's handbag while in a Truro nightclub after drinking more than a dozen pints of cider has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.
Adam Newton, 22, picked up Emma Smith's handbag on January 9, from the alcove she had left it in while she was dancing in Vanilla, Truro Crown Court heard on Friday.
Philip Lee, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said the bag contained Ms Smith's mobile phone, cosmetics and cash.
