A FINANCIAL assistant employed by a Truro-based charity stole more than £3,000 from the petty cash and tea funds to pay her rent and telephone bill.Marie Helen Dwyer, aged 29, of Fore Street, Newquay, had been off sick and away from work when an audit was carried out at the Cornwall Rural Community Council (CRCC) and discrepancies were revealed.At Truro Magistrates' Court, Dwyer pleaded guilty to stealing £3,430.83 while she was employed by the charity.Alison May, for the...
