A RETIRED farmer has been found guilty of sexually abusing a naïve schoolgirl on a Helston farm. John Rosewarne, 63, of Pencarn Parc, Four Lanes, Redruth, was tried 35 years after he exploited his 10-year-old victim over a long period of time in the 1970's. POLICE in Camborne are appealing for help after a significant amount of scaffolding equipment was stolen from a property.The theft, which includes scaffolding poles, fixings and planks that are identifiable with green smart paint that is unique to its owners, were taken between February 7 and 14.The equipment was stolen from Coronation Avenue.Anyone with any information is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference number AC/13/569.

Police in Truro have confirmed that overall crime in Truro has reduced by nearly 10 per cent compared to figures from last year. According to official police statistics, overall crime has dropped from 2,490 incidents from April 2011-2012 to 2,285 from April 2012-2013. PC Faye Webb said that because of adverse sea conditions the St Mary's-based police were unable to get to the island until a few hours later.
