LEE ABBOTT, 33, of Mount Wise Road, Newquay, was banned from driving for 42 months and fined £110 with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge by Bodmin magistrates on Tuesday last week after pleading guilty to driving a Vauxhall Astra on November 12 at Camelford with 70 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 35mcg and using the vehicle without insurance.His ban will be reduced by 42 weeks if he completes an approved course.

JONATHAN HARVEY, 28, of The Old Rectory Lodge, The Old Rectory, St Mawgan, appeared before Bodmin magistrates on Tuesday, December 3, when he pleaded guilty to driving a Mini Cooper on November 5 at Trevarrian, Newquay, with 121 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 35mcg.He was ordered to pay £542 in fines, costs, surcharge and banned from driving for 30 months, to be reduced by 30 weeks if he completes an approved course.

Trapped dog saved
A DOG was rescued from a disused quarry near Liskeard.At 9am on Monday, a call was received about a Jack Russell terrier that was reported to be stuck in a hedge.The dog was found to be stuck in a disused quarry at Crows Nest, near Liskeard.One fire engine from Liskeard attended and the line rescue vehicle from Bodmin Community Fire Station also attended.The dog was successfully rescued with no serious injuries after crews attempted to dig from above using small tools.

Bail extended for Western Greyhound's Summercourt depot fire...
Three men arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire destroyed a bus depot at Summercourt have had their bail extended.
The trio, aged 43, 26 and 18 and all from Bristol, have been bailed until February 18.
The fire, which took place in the early hours of May 13, destroyed an estimated £1.5 million worth of vehicles and equipment at the Western Greyhound depot.
