POLICE are appealing for help to find the family of a man with links to Porthleven who died suddenly.Peter Waters died at Royal Cornwall Hospital on Friday.According to police, he was suffering from partial memory loss when he arrived at the hospital.They were able to identify him but could not track down any of his next of kin.It is understood Mr Waters lives in Stacksteads in Lancashire but had been spending time in the Porthleven area prior to his death.Those with any information are asked to...

DEVON and Cornwall's police and crime commissioner says he wants to see an extra 200 special constables taken on over the next four years.Tony Hogg said the figure should rise from 600 to 800 by 2017, with the money coming from contingency funds.Extra training will be given to the new special constables, who will have full arrest powers.A recruitment freeze for full-time officers has been lifted. CAMBORNECar hits bridge
A CAR collided with a bridge near Camborne on Sunday morning.Emergency services were called to the scene on the B3280 near Praze-an-Beeble at around 10.30am.Six firefighters from Camborne assisted paramedics with removing one casualty from the car using a spinal board. The injured person was left in the care of the ambulance service.Firefighters worked to make the scene safe.

DAMIEN Richard Crowle, 19, of Grange Road, Helston, pleaded not guilty at Truro Magistrates' Court to assaulting Adam Cooper at Helston on March 3, jointly with Kieran John Beckerleg, 18, c/o Tenderah Road, Helston. Beckerleg also faces additional charges of assaulting Aidan Postle and James Hughes on the same date. He did not attend the court hearing and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Redruth man injured in unprovoked attack in town centre pub.
A MAN in his fifties was punched and hit over the head in an unprovoked attack at the Oxford Inn, Redruth.The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries, including a cut to the top of his head requiring 12 stitches, following the assault at about 6.30pm on September 14.Officers want to trace a group of four men who were in the Fore Street pub at the time.Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting reference AC/13/3763.
