A HOMELESS former carpenter who burgled two homes in Perranporth and Truro has been jailed for 14 months.
At Truro Crown Court on Tuesday, Scott Horner, for the prosecution, said John Beston, 27, broke into 68-year-old Donald Matthew's Perranporth bungalow on February 20.
Mr Matthew, who had his 10-year-old grandson staying with him at the time, called the police after being woken up at 1.30am by the intruder entering his home.
