Police are warning shopkeepers in Cornwall to be aware of a fraud known as "ringing the changes.''
Two men of Asian appearance are being sought after defrauding store owners in a number of towns in the county including Camborne and Wadebridge.
The scam involves asking shop staff to change currency and then confusing them into handing back a larger sum of cash.
