FEWER crimes were committed in Newquay this New Year's Eve compared to last year.
Police say 11 crimes were recorded at the resort on December 31 between 6pm and 6am, six less than the previous year.
Five people were arrested for night time economy related offences, which can include public order offences, assault, drunk and disorderly and arrests to prevent a Breach of the Peace, but none were of a serious nature, police said.
