An armed robber attacked a sweet shop and newsagent in a North Cornwall town.
A man armed with a knife and a meat cleaver carried out the "horrendous" attack at the Candy Shop in Bude and made his escape.
The robber threatened the middle-aged female cashier with the weapons and stole the contents of the till.
The woman has been left traumatised by the attack at 2pm yesterday in which approximately £1,000 was stolen.
