Drink-drive ban

A NEWLYN man was caught drink-driving a second time after police officers followed his car and saw it swerve across the road and clip a kerb at 3.30am on April 14.Thomas Howell, 32, of Old Pilchard Works, Newlyn, had 84mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, more than twice the legal limit.Alison May, for the prosecution, said his previous conviction for a similar offence was in October 2007.Howell was fined £200 and £105 costs and surcharge, and banned from driving for 40 months.
