A 43-YEAR-OLD defending his pet poodle was bit on the back of the head by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier while walking on Par Beach.
Police said the attacking dog, which was off its lead, went for the poodle, which was being walked on a lead.
But the poodle's owner, who was visiting from Halesowen in the West Midlands, told police that when he tried to intervene, the terrier bit him on the back of the head.
